If you have an average power blender, you should not use it for some of these ingredients. Although the powerful motor and blender knives can blend a lot, there are several things that you should not put into this device. Take a look at the seven things you cannot put into the blender:

1. Too hot liquid

Even though the blender is said to be the most practical thing when pureeing ingredients for soup, if the soup is too hot, the insertion of such hot liquid into a blender can be very dangerous. Putting in very hot liquids and then turning the blender on, steam and pressure are generated inside the apparatus, which can lead to the lid popping up and the hot soup will explode across the whole room.

Instead, allow the soup to cool down at least five minutes before putting it into the blender. Fill the liquid up to half of the blender and hold the cover firmly wrapped in a towel to prevent accidents.

2. Puree

Although this may seem harmless to you, turning blender on to make puree will not give you results. Blades of bladder will “chop” potatoes too much which will lead to the release of too much starch.

The final result will be a sticky, rubber mass instead of foam that everyone loves. Instead, use the classic tools for making puree, pureeing devices or a food mill.

3. Dried fruits or dried tomato

If you have high strength blender, this should not be a problem. However, if you have a standard blender, the skinny and tough texture of dried fruits and tomatoes can easily stuck to the blades of the blender and ruin them. Therefore, if you need to blend dried fruit or tomatoes, dip them in warm water first to soften them.

4. Coffee beans

Technically, you can grind the coffee beans in the blender. But, there are better tools for grinding whole beans. Blender can make coffee beans unequally grinded, which can affect the taste of coffee. Grains can also damage blender blades, so it is better to look for a coffee grinder instead.

5. Anything that is very frozen

And again, if you have a strong blender, this is allowed, however, if your blender is of standard strength, harder and solid things could cause problems to the device. Ice cubes could be problematic for crushing, frozen fruits can remain in pieces, while blades could be damaged under the pressure.

Instead, if you are trying to make a smoothie in the standard blender, it would be desirable to let the fruit dissolve for about five to ten minutes before inserting it into the blender, and it is also recommended to use smashed ice in the blender.

6. Whole grains

A spice grinder, as well as mortar and pestle, exist for a reason and are truly the best tools for processing whole grains. Standard blender blades are not really designed for dry ingredients.

The height of the blender can also cause the fine particles of the spices to settle much slower, which can lead to the pepper and other particles that cause the cough, floating in the air.

7. Dishes, while the blender is working

It may seem to you that this is implied, but it’s not a bad thing to remember: make sure the blender is completely turned off before you insert a spoon or a spat into the device to mix or grab the mixture. Remove the cup from the base before using the cutlery.
