1) QCOM would be simply mad to build its own fab, as if taking 20nm-ish technology to mass production is as simple as rolling out of bed.  There&#039;s an old joke about how to make a small fortune in the winemaking industry:  start with a large fortune.  Same applies to QCOM and building a fab.

2) Fear of sole-source foundry? Ohmigosh, CMOS boys, welcome to the life of the RF fabless semi house.  We&#039;ve been married to single foundries since the beginning, and there&#039;s no end to that in sight.  Time to man up in the baseband world...</description>
